I’ve been in love with Luke Daniels since, well, forever. As his sister's best friend, I’ve spent over a decade living in the friend zone, watching from the sidelines hoping he would notice me, pick me, love me.

I want the fairy tale and Luke is my Prince Charming. He’s tall, with shoulders so broad he blocks out the sun. He's kind with a smile so dazzling he makes me forget everything that’s wrong in the world. And he's the only man that can make me laugh until my cheeks hurt and my stomach cramp.

But he’ll never be mine.

So I’ve decided to get on with my life and find the next best thing.

Until a Wonder Woman costume, a bottle of tequila and a game of truth or dare happened.

Then Luke's licking salt from my wrist and telling me I’m beautiful.

Then he’s peeling off my clothes and pressing his lips against mine.

Then what? Is this the start of my happily ever after or the beginning of a tragedy?

Promised Nights is a sexy, standalone with no cliffhanger. Some of the supporting characters have a book of their own.
Other Books in the Nights Series
Parisian Nights is Jake and Haven's story.
Indigo Nights is Beth and Dylan's story.

(Promised Nights was previously published as novella serial Calling Me)

Promised Nights edition by Louise Bay Literature Fiction eBooks

I did like the story, it's just that Ash's character sorta got on my nerves by the end. I really liked the other series and loved Haven and Jake so I wanted to read these books too. I just felt that everything was rushed in this book. The story telling and all the other parts, just seemed rushed. I would have enjoyed the story more if Luke had more closure with Emma too. I felt like this whole thing was a rushed story. I will read about Beth in Indiago Nights, but it would have been nice to get through a story without the main couple having a baby! A story can be great with people not having kids. With that being said, I am fan of the author and will continue to read her stories.

Promised Nights edition by Louise Bay Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This was such a beautiful story. I'm so glad Luke figured out that Emma wasn't who he should be with. Ashleigh finally got to have her one true love! Can't wait for Beth's story! Amazing job Louise Bay!
Luke and Ashleigh's story. Luke is the older brother of Haven. Haven and Ashleigh have been the best of friends since the age of 2. The three of them are the best of friends. Ashleigh is light hearted, funny, charismatic and the most loyal person. She has pined over Luke her entire life. However, not to damage the trio dynamic and knowing that Luke would never be interested in that way...Ash simply does what she does best. She doesn't act, and she supports her best friends and their relationships and keeps her own feelings at bay. Haven, she knows what is in her best friends heart and knows that Ash loves Luke. But Luke is involved with a successful and gorgeous doctor named, Emma. For years in fact. They live together. When Emma finally breaks down and poses an ultimatum to Luke that they need to progress to the next level (for the sheer fact that all her friends are getting married)...it leaves Luke to reevaluate what he wants in life. He realizes that he never wants to be married. He never wants children. He likes things the way they are. However, Emma does not find this acceptable. Hearing her bio clock ticking, she gives him 30 days to work it out. Luke confides in his closest circle and slowly retreats from Emma altogether.
One night as a fill in, like Ashleigh has so often done in the past when Emma was working, she attends a special event with Luke. When Luke takes one look at her, something deep stirs. But wait! This is Ash! He always knew she was beautiful inside and out, that was not the realization. It was the fact that for some reason, despite years of flirtation from Ash, he has somehow opened himself up for the possibility that he would like to explore dating her. He and Emma end things and somehow, Emma suspects Ashleigh has some involvement. But it's still too new and nothing has really happened between him and Ashleigh so he dismisses it. Though somehow, internally, he may be agreeing with her on some level. One date turns into "more".
Their issue lies with Haven. How do they not break up their family dynamic? If Ash and Luke date and it falls apart around them, what happens to the three of them. Haven of course reminds them of this and almost seems hesitant that they are dating and even is upset by this...despite knowing for decades that Ashleigh has been in love with Luke. Jake, the wonderful man he is, reminds her that love finds a way and that she needed to give them her blessing and not stand in the way of their love.
You will enjoy watching two people who are so close like brother and sister, come to struggle with differentiating between friends and lovers.
In turn you will also find that Luke, is perhaps not as singular in nature as he thought. He didn't want the all consuming love and life ever after with Emma...because she wasn't the "one". When your soul finds it's match, it's hard to not see your forever together. When your soul finds it's match, anything is possible. And when you have a love that has flourished when all other relationships in your life have come and gone, you consider that "the one" is forever. Sometimes, the person you have looked for all your life, has been under your nose the entire time. And sometimes, you just have to make them yours at all cost. I recommend this series...whole heartedly.
A good follow-up to the first book, and not disappointing in the sex. Plot was terribly predictable--no twists
Liked this story even though I thought it was dragged out in the middle I still loved how it ended. This could have been told in one book not the three short books it took. Middle if story was slow and sometimes boring but the ending and last part of the book warranted the 4 stars.
It took me a little longer to get through this one. The heroines inability to believe the hero loved her just as much as she loved him was a bit tedious but overall a good story. The other two books in this series were better.
Some of Louise Bay's books are fun reads, and other's are obnoxious. This one happened to be the latter. Ashleigh was so obnoxious. She has zero self esteem and refuses to talk about her feelings in favor of acting rashly. I guess there wouldn't have been a book without her drama, but it was so contrived and she really just came off as whiny.
I enjoyed the beginning, sample read, but after a bit Ash the main character because whiney and insecure, which she dealt with repeatedly through the book, which turned me off and had me skimming the last half of the book. I guess I prefer my characters somewhat secure of themselves at least after the deal with their issues 1-2 Times.
